To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic Tchin Tchin, French brand Alain Afflelou has decided to add contact lenses to its offer. The company has suggested it sees this as an opportunity to expand its web presence, since the bulk of contact lens purchases are made online.
Tchin Tchin was born in 1999, and since then 40 million pairs of glasses have been sold using the offer, with exactly 866 new models created. To celebrate this anniversary, the brand is extending its legendary operation to include contact lenses.
“This offer is bang on for the digital and e-commerce era”, explains the brand, noting that “80% of online sales concern contact lenses.” The brand is using social media (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest) to introduce the new Tchin Tchin proposition, using fashion influencers in particular to promote the brand.
