Eye expert Michelle Beach is the founder and optometrist director of Park Vision, a bespoke eye clinic in Nottingham’s Regent Street. Park Vision is a fusion of three of Michelle’s passions in life: optometry, sport and fashion.
After graduating in Optometry from Cardiff University, Michelle came to Nottingham to complete her training at Queen’s Medical Centre – specialising in low vision aid, children’s clinics and corneal research. She was awarded research prizes in the UK and USA for her work studies in corneal graft surgery.
Michelle set up Park Vision to offer a bespoke service for any visual need. It’s all about spending time with people from the moment they walk into the practice - listening to their needs, using top of the range equipment to give excellent eye examinations, then helping them choose the right eyewear.
Michelle will be presenting a talk at this years conference.
Michelle’s presentation will talk about Sports Vision and what makes it different from a standard eye examination. Why Sports Vision is so important and how it can benefit everyone in your practice area from the professional athlete to the child struggling with sport at school. Getting involved with Sports Vision can give a practice the edge in the current optical climate of dominant multiples and a reason why patients will walk through your door.
There is potential for multiple dispenses and contact lens fittings as well as raising the practices profile without hard advertising. Michelle will finish the presentation with audience participation, discussing the visual requirements and problem solving of a number of sports vision case studies including; rugby, cricket, speed skating, skeleton and equestrian sports.
